About Us
Scituate Friends of Music (SFM) is a 501(c)(3) organization made up of parents, teachers and community members who wish to support quality music programming in the Scituate Public Schools from grades K-12.
The Mission of the Scituate Friends of Music is to support, promote and enhance the Music Program in the Scituate Public Schools, Grades K through 12, through collaboration with the Music Director, Music Teachers, School Administrators, and the School Committee.
The Scituate Friends of Music supports, promotes and works to enhance the Music Program in the Scituate Public Schools, Grades K through 12, through collaboration with the Music Director, Music Teachers, School Administrators, and the School Committee. We seek to provide resources complimentary to (not in place of) those provided by the Scituate Public Schools. This includes requests by the Scituate Schools faculty for equipment and supplies, funding for workshops and guest artists, and volunteering of our time to enhance the Scituate Music programs and student learning. We strongly believe in the importance and benefits of studying music as part of a child’s education.
Our Membership is comprised of the parents and guardians of all children participating in the music programs of the Scituate Public Schools, students and members of our community. If you care about quality music education, we invite you to get involved and join the Scituate Friends of Music!
We meet on a monthly basis, usually the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the SHS Music Room.
